[Elecraft] Resistor Pack Question....

This may be a dumb question, but I have just started building the K2 and on 
the Control board the instructions do not say to trim the leads on the 
resistor packs AFTER they have been soldered.  For all of the other 
components, i.e. resistors, caps, etc. they say to do this.  Should I or 
shouldn't I trim the leads AFTER they have been soldered?  Is there a 
specific reason for this?
