There is such a notation.
On page 51 of the Rev E K2 manual, after installing the first toroid
(RFC14) it says, "Measure from pad to pad (not wire to wire) using an
ohmmeter to be sure the leads are making contact." This is good advice
for ALL toroid connections.
Stripping and soldering the magnet wire used on the various toroids is
probably the trickiest part of the whole assembly process. I remember
around 40 years ago there was a nice chemical from GC which was used to
remove the coating from magnet wire, but it probably had some bad
environmental properties and appears to no longer be available.
