[Elecraft] Questions before I begin KSB2

My K2 (#3209) was built with the crystals grounded on both sides - - no
more than half way up. There was no problem with installing the KSB2
after that option was built.

Subject: [Elecraft] Questions before I begin KSB2

I'm about to build the KSB2 for K2 #2636 (with B mods) and
would appreciate a little advice before beginning. I've
already purchased the latest matching crystals for the K2.

Page 13 of the KSB2 manual explains that grounding for X7
through X11 must be done on the right side of the crystals
to avoid interference. Is this still an issue if the
crystals are grounded at the bottom of the cans on both
sides, as suggested in previous mods?

I'm pretty sure I'll end up doing the KI6WX mods, so is
there any reason not to go ahead and incorporate them during
the intial build? It seems a lot easier than replacing
components later. The consensus seems to be that the 2.5
kHz bandwidth is the way to go. I assume this also affect
the transmitted bandwidth. Are there any issues here?
Recalling some recent FCC concern about the guys doing
"enhanced" SSB, I was just curious. A re-read of QST
indicates they may be up to as much as 8 kHz (!), but there
were reminders of using the minimum bandwidth necessary.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
