[Elecraft] K2 build: low sig strength on 40m

K2 assembly -- finished RF stage 2, went through tests and aligns.  With a 
40m dipole attached, sensitivity seems awfully low.  I can barely hear 
anything even after peaking the slug tuned coils.  With L34, I may have 
turned too far -- I didn't feel much resistance when the slug bottomed 
out.  How likely is it that if I turned too far I've actually broken 
something inside?  Would this correspond to low signal strengths on 40 
meter receive?
