Rules for operating in Canada:

1) Every time you send BTU you have to end with EH!
2) Never operate right after eating some Canadian Back Bacon. You'll want
to wait at least 45 minutes to prevent cramps.
3) Smile an say hello to everyone you meet cause Canadians are real
friendly. If you don't they will think they did something to offend you.
4) Don't use a Moose as a tripod for your antenna. They don't like that
much. They will however help organize you campsite.

In all seriousness there are really no restrictions I can think of.

Have fun,
Robert VE3RPF

Subject: [Elecraft] K1 in Canada

I'm about to head off deep into the British Columbia wilderness with my K1.
(Bowron Provincial Park). This will be my first trip outside the U.S., and
I know I need to sign as WA7URV/VE7. Does anyone know of a source for any
other operating rules unique to Canada that I must follow? I would
appreciate it.

I will be using a simple 33' end fed with a counterpoise, matched by the
KAT1. I don't have a lot of capability for hauling much of anything else,
but maybe someone has some cool ideas for antennas that I might try. (I'll
be operating on 40, 20, 30, and 15, to determine the best propagation for
getting out of glacial lake valleys. I'm thinking at this time of year, 30
might work the best, but not sure til I get there and try.)

Thanks, and 73!
Phil, WA7URV
