[Elecraft] K1 backlight

Hi

Several builders have installed small white or green LED's on each side of
the display. The display is not suited to be backlit but side lighting works
fairly well. One or two LED's will draw much ness power than a grain of
wheat bulb. At night 5-10 ma is all that is needed. One of the flat green
LED's like used on the KAT100 SWR meter looks like it would fit. You can
wire 2 LED's in series and connect to the 12 volt supply with a 1-2.2K limit
resistor. A push button or toggle on the back to turn them on when needed
would be easy to do. I think I remember a post from Wayne explaining that
the MPU I/O is used up, so no control pins are available to drive the
lighting.
