Hi folks -
Tony, G7IGG, brings up a point that I think was briefly touched on ages
ago, but, starting another K1 makes me want to check in on it again. The
option to flip on backlighting would be pretty neat for the K1.
I know the K1 was beautifully designed to minimize power and weight and
size, but I am wondering if a "grain of wheat" bulb could be put into the
circuit and then an extra function added to one of the existing switches to
allow the user to turn the lighting off and on at will. I wonder if there is
room left on the K1's main chip to do this (Eric and Wayne?) A little mod
kit of chip and bulb would be pretty neat.
Perhaps the tiny bulbs don't consume enought power to merit the need of an
off/on switch? I don't know since I'm just a solder jockey. If power
consumption is not an issue, then it would be nice to hear how anybody may
have approached the question: part numbers and install procedure?
Have a healthy and happy New Year everyone.
