Hi Tim,

I dunno about the K1 digital switchoff functionality, but I can confirm that
my K1 is more sensitive and quieter on the ears than my vintage rigs -
HW-101, HW-16 (and my TS-140S which I don't talk about a lot - I mostly use
it as a bench signal generator).

The only receiver I have that is close to the K1 is a Muzhuo (now branded as
Jim?) 20 Meter QRP unit which I think is a single superhet rx.

Admittedly my old valve gear isn't in pristine condition, but I spent a lot
of time last year restoring the HW-101 and HW-16's.

My only issues with the K1:

1. Lack of backlighting on the readout. One day soon I'll investigate
putting some leds in at the back of the display to see what happens..

2. The internal battery retrofit really needs a little plug and socket to
disconnect the fitting when you need to get inside the rig to fiddle and
remove boards.

Regards,

Tony

interesting response from one owner. I think I have paraphrased this
correctly. If not, maybe someone could clarify. My question is this: is the
K1 designed to do this very same thing in receive as the K2? Thanks and
