[Elecraft] S-meter Readings

Only recently joined the Elecraft family. Traded for K2 sn 556.
I have reviewed VE3MCF's Reflections from Reflector and quickly cruised thru
the reflector itself.
And have not found any comments about what I have done. Wondering if I am
creating any problems.
I know the S in RST was originally subjective and not tied to a specific
voltage.
But the K2's S-meter seems to be a bit stingy on its readings compared to my
Omni 6.
And with more S units than LED's I fiddled.
I adjusted the S-meter via Cal setting to light the 9th LED for an S9
signal.
That spreads out the S-meter giving me a LED for each S unit and the tenth
LED for S9+.
I work 99.9% CW and only indicate the strongest signal as 599 plus. Am I
wrong?
