Don't know about your KX1, but mine does less than two watts on internal 
Lithiums, not >3.  And based on experience (I maintain 24 NiMH batteries 
for various apps and use Li cells for GPSRs and other apps)  -- and 
specs  -- the Lithiums will far outlast the NiMH in the KX1.
