Looks like replacement parts for the 707 are about to take a quantum
leap in "unobtainability", according to
   http://www.hakko.com/itnl/images/PDF/discontinued_en.pdf

"Over 5 years have passed since Hakko 150B, 150C, 151, 481, 483, 700,
707, 800, 801, 926 & 927 were discontinued, and it's getting difficult
to keep supplying replacement parts for them.

"Therefore, we have decided to stop supplying the items in list <A> as
at August 31, 2003. Also please be noted in advance that your
requiring item(s) may not be available when ordering as we will finish
the supply upon running out of our stock.

"While the items in the list <B> will be available until the end of
August 2006.

"Just for your information, all the items on the list <C> are no longer
available.

List <B> includes diaphragms, o-rings, filters and tips, so that looks
like FB for a few more years. List <C> didn't seem to include anything
for the 707. List <A> includes pump heads, crank arms, check valves,
balance weights, and cleaning wrench.

Just out of curiosity, what tips are you 808 user's using? I have a
0.8mm tip. (which incidentally seems to be pretty clogged up -- may
well be my problem!) I can't imagine wanting a larger tip for fine PCB
work (1.0, 1.3 and 1.6 mm are listed for the 707) but there is a 0.8mm
"slim nozzle" listed. Sounds like that might work for reaching in
between things on the component side...

Cheers,
