Rick....I'm red/green colorblind, too. One night my wife said, "You're
not wearing that to dinnner, are you?" And I said, "I don't know why not.
I've worn it all day."

Like you, I've been checking resistors with a VOM or DMM since 1970. Back
then, I was building a Heathkit color TV & when I was installing the last
of the resistors, I was coming up with one resistor that had one band with
the wrong color. Sure enough, I had mis-installed the resistor that I was
looking for during an earlier phase of construction. I just had to figure
out which one it was.

I'm one of the red/green colorblind folks, so every so often it's run to
my
wife and ask her the color of something. I check EVERY resistor with a
quality, recently calibrated desktop DMM.

Eric & Wayne are my heroes today replacing Roy Rogers & John Wayne from
yester-year. I've been a ham since 1960 but there's nothing like the fun
& self-esteem that you build after completing one of these kits. Ham
radio & the ensuing adventure were critical during my teen years in
providing direction for my life & career. (I completed my BSEE in 1970)

Here are links to stories of my early teen years about being bitten by the
ham bug in 1959, SOS At Midnight, & Getting my Novice Ticket:

Today, like you, I need more light & more magnification because the
components & circuit boards are much smaller & I've aged a couple of
decades, too. Eric & Wayne have put forth a premier product with
excellent instruction & guidance, as well as customer support.
