I am repairing my KPA100 from a lightning hit. The EL5146XZ was blown,
thus no matter where you set the power either QRO or QRP, it was always
full boat respectively. Well I've replaced the op amp and the circuits
are now working...however I can't calibrate the power output. When I
calibrate at 5 watts everything QRP tracks...however as you go up in
power it doesn't track...set for 15 it's 15, set for 20 it's 50 or more,
set for 30 and it runs 130 watts.....oops...not tracking
properly....Well Wayne if you are out there do you the "scale line" with
the 2n7000 are blown......just guessing as there is no real voltage
check in the manual..as this can vary with VSWR (although I am into a
150 watt load in my service monitor...so should be 1.0 to 1.....and
aligned the SWR bridge as such.
Thanks in advance guys...don't just want to tear out the FET's if that
isn't the problem and impossible to check them in circuit.
