I can second that. I had the same problem and put it on the reflector and
was advised to do the modification. I saw what was involved with the mod and
decided to try some spray first and if it didnt work then i would proceed
with the mod. I used DeOxit and it eliminated not only all the noise but
when the af gain is set to zero i also eliminated any sound coming from it.
