It's usually the case that Elecraft will provide updated firmware along with
any option that requires it upon request. When I found that the KPA100
required an SSB firmware upgrade after I'd already received the kit, a simple
request to Elecraft sales had it in my mailbox in two days, free of charge.
You might as well write and let them know that you bought the kit and forgot
to request the upgraded firmware. Odds are good you'll get it quickly.
I know that 1.02 was too old for the KAT100 to work --- K2 wouldn't even
recognize it being there.
