[Elecraft] Question regarding update from rev A to rev B

Cornel, as a "rule of thumb" I always avoid making more changes than
necessary without testing my work. Elecraft obviously feels the same way
with plenty of in-process resistance, voltage and even operational
checks to make as you build.
In this case I'd build the basic Rev A exactly as instructed, then test
and ensure it works properly. Then add any optional modules you bought
with it and test each one individually as they are added to ensure they
work properly. Keep in mind that if you bought the SSB module the
receive SSB audio will sound very different on the upper sideband vs.
the lower sideband until you install the 2nd Xfil flattening mod, but
I'd still build and test the module by itself first.
Then I would start making the modifications, installing and testing each
one in turn to be sure the rig works properly before going on to the
next one.
That way, any troubleshooting to find a problem is made as simple as
possible.
In my career, I can't count the number of times I was troubleshooting a
weird problem that cropped up right after I "fixed" something and I came
to the very reluctant conclusion that I had experienced a random failure
that just happened to occur as I was fixing something else.
That happened to me dozens if not hundreds of times over the years. And
EVERY TIME I was WRONG!
The strange failure that obviously had nothing to do with what I just
worked on turned out to be something stupid that I did while "fixing"
the radio. Maybe I broke a connection handling it. Maybe I left a test
jumper in the wrong place (or bumped a switch like the famous +12 volt
switch that is being replaced by a jumper in the K2). Maybe I forgot to
put something back, or didn't seat a connector properly. Whatever the
problem, it was ALWAYS something that I 'broke' without realizing it.
The moral of the story is that when something suddenly "quits", assume
that it is something you just caused the last time you touched the unit.
So the more often you test your radio after making changes, the easier
it is to figure out what went wrong when it doesn't work properly.

I'm in the proces of building K2 nr. 2915, this moment at page 48 of the
manual.
Of course I would like to upgrade to rev B. What is the best thing to
do:
1. Finish building and testing K2 rev A and then start with the
modifications 2. Ordering the mod package and doing the mods along the
way?
