Is anyone in the UK thinking of ordering the BFO mod kit for the K2? I was
thinking of doing so, though I'm not greatly bothered by BFO drift, but was
put off by the fact that the international shipping cost more than doubles
the price of the kit. Perhaps if a few of us club together one person could
order several kits, and split the cost of the shipping?

My second question is: has anyone tried to get their K2 on 5MHz in order to
listen or even take part in the current experiment?

I was interested in the comment by Allen, KA5N, that replacing the filter
crystals and doing the BFO mod solved the problem of the beat note changing
when switching bandwidths. I'm still troubled by this problem, which
discourages me from using narrow bandwidths when working PSK, but I can't
see why this mod would solve this particular problem, unless it's just a
matter of luck.
