K2 resistors leads may be of magnetic alloy, but not steel. Most components
use tinned copper leads, or other materials such as Kovar.

As far as galvanize, its components are metals of higher resistance and thus
more loss than copper. Copper is smooth compared to galvanized coatings,
and thus has lower resistance due to length of skin effect area than the
undulations of the galvanized coating over steel. Built many galavanized
wire antennas in 1958 to 1960 before finding them much more lossy, not to
mention soldering fumes problems than just using low cost copper like
electrical wires. "73" does not verify the technical accuracy of many of
their papers, unfortunately. His galvanized antennas paper does not hold up
to the Physics of the materials.
