[Elecraft] need fiber optic 'wire'

Folks,
I am trying to work out an idea of using a fiber optic 'wire' to get an
indicator light up to the K2 (or K1) front panel. Was gonna use this
light  to emphasize that I was in the Split VFO mode. However, am having
trouble locating a piece of fiber optic wire. Anyone out there have a
short piece that might mail to me for this experiment? Wayne (N6KR) says
he has a 2 or 3 piece logic circuit that would drive the F.O. circuit.

What I have in mind is a small-diameter (say about a 1/32-inch dia. or
even less). I thought of locating one of those fiber optic table lamps
that were popular a few years ago and snipping off one of the limbs. Been
to local Radio Shack and Fry's looking for some F.O. but nothing there. I
see some of the lamps on EBay, but thats a $10 bill. There is  a local
electronic surplus store up the road... will try that, today.

So, anyone out there have one of these F.O. table lamps and would like to
snip off a limb and mail it to me? A piece 8 or 10 inches in length would
do. Please reply off line.
