I did it that way because it was expedient, and because I am designing (or
plan to design) a board to go into the EC2 to add a few features to the
station. I didn't want to drill holes and add conenctors.  So I drilled a
hole where I expect a D-sub connector to sit on my PCB and ran the cables
through it.  It is just a temporary hack.

Now, I am in <pause> mode waiting to see how the KAT100 will fit into the
EC2...
