[Elecraft] K1 coverage on 80-40-20-15?

Hi

This came up a few months ago on the reflector. The K1 4 band module uses=
some of the same parts on each of the lower and upper two bands so it is=
not possible to have 80 and 40 on the same filter. You could build it fo=
r 80, 20 and 15 as a 3 band module. That seems a bit of a waste.

I would suggest building the 4 band module as 40,30,20 and 15 or 17 and b=
uy a two band module with 80 and 17 or 15. I think someone has built a tw=
o band module for 10 and 12 meters but I don't know how well it worked. E=
lecraft does not support 10 or 12 meters at this time so you are on your =
own for parts to do this.

Subject: [Elecraft] K1 coverage on 80-40-20-15?

Hi,

I'm new to the list, don't yet own a K# but am considering starting by
purchasing a K1. I would really prefer having all 80/40/20/15/10 in the
K1, but that is apparently not an option? So, I wonder if I can at least
make the 4-band version but implement 80m instead of 30m? That would giv=
e
me 80/40/20/15 in a single package. Would this really be anything more
than picking different inductors, capacitors, etc. for that changed band?

Any comments or suggestions?
