Hi:
I have built 20 K2's (7 K1's but not important here, maybe) and have had
some parts missing and some bad parts. Elecraft has never been anything but
excellent, perfect perhaps in satisfying me. Sure I was aggravated on a
Saturday when a whatacallit was missing. With the number of parts in each
kit, they do a great job. Always pleasant about it as well.

My K2 kit arrived with a bad crystal in it. That was two years ago. A couple
of conversations with Gary had a replacement coming my way even though he
was sure it wasn't the crystal. (And the new crystal fixed the problem too
<G>).
Elecraft has a good track record of excellent customer support. They tend to
replace things and do whatever is necessary to make things "right" with a
minimum of fuss.
Yes, I agree that it is VERY frustrating to get a bad part or find that one
(or a bag of them) is missing, but I am certain that I would NOT want to pay
the price necessary for a kit that was absolutely guaranteed to be filled
with all perfect parts every time.
When dealing with Human Beings, I have found it useful to remember that ALL
humans make mistakes. Even me. So I base my assessment of my fellow humans
on how they go about correcting their mistakes.
In that regard Elecraft scores very high in my book.
