Good point, Ron!

In a "perfect" world Elecraft would have a store next to every McDonalds or
7-11 in the world.  It would have a complete inventory of every part in all
kits.  There would be in-person tech support.  It would be open 24/7/365.

.... and a K2 would cost $127, 465.99!

Besides, building a K2 is probably a once-in-a-lifetime experience.  Savor
every moment!  Even those unfortunate, frustrating moments you might be
waiting by the mailbox for a replacement part!

Which really is the bottom-line, morale to this story/thread:  Take the time
to enjoy running your hands through all those beautiful electronic and
mechanical components that you, with your own skills and craft, will
assemble into a world-class radio at Radio Shack prices.  In other words,
inventory the entire kit before you "lay the keel" and install R1!  You
won't be sorry you did and you will learn some things.
