[Elecraft] 817 audio better than K2?

Several day's ago I posted an email which read:

I was referring to the *receive* audio.  The 817 is quite loud and produces a 
lot of decent sound from that small speaker. Again, its the sum total of the 
positives and negatives that make a rig what it is.  I prefer the K2 since 
its a great kit that allows its owner to share in its technology.  The 817 is 
a very good appliance but just an appliance.  Technical types, like myself 
will prefer the K2 and the less technically inclined will prefer a good 
appliance.  

The 817 still has much better audio and Elecraft has some real 
competition...and as Martha Stewart says "That's a good thing"...
