Dear All,

Right, hold everything!

I had one the local hams pop in to suggest HF antenna setups for me. I 
mentioned about my telephone call to the RA, he was quite shocked and in 
disbelief.

He will contact the RA and RSGB himself 9as he is one of the foundation 
licence instructors) to clear up this matter. I think I am reading into the 
rules to literally.

"Apparatus
4(1) The licensee shall only use transmitting equipment conforming to EC 
standards or commercially available kits transmitting inside amatuer bands 
only."

This could be read as, as long as the rig only transmits on amateur bands 
then fine.

So I will await my friends answer before making any more decisions or 
remarks.

I apologise for the can of worms I have opened, I just want to make sure.
