Hi

Check the voltmeter switch on the control board. Make sure it is in the 
normal position

Check the speaker wiring if you reversed the ground and hot at the external 
speaker jack you will have low audio. Also the audio will be low if the top 
cover is off. 

Loosen the speaker hardware a little. If the screws are to tight the speaker 
frame can be warped causing low or distorted audio.
