Rick,
Not to worry. Actually BUILDING the KPA100 will not only give you great
satisfaction but will also increase your dexterity and exercise your motor
skills. Using it, you are more likely to come in contact with 75m/160m
QRP phone operators, thus most likely causing you to further exercise your
hearing ability to pull them out of the noise.
The change that comes on is not one of dumbness but rather one of having
to use a larger dummy load when you have the power knob fully clockwise.
I suppose that some people, whos callsign(s?), proper name(s?) and
complete address(es?) I will refrain from posting (grin) because I don't
wish to further humiliate them beyond that which they have already done
themselves, think that ones intellegence quotient is inversely
proportionate to the number of lumins a 100w lightbulb produces when used
as a dummy load. This is however most definately an inaccurate
assumption. Don't let someones bragging about some 4-ele beam confuse you
into lending credence to their argument.
Those of us who are in possessession of the intellectual fortitude to
remember to breath without assistance realize that the notion of the
original poster, (that people who build/install the KPA100 are not
"smart"), is not only mistaken but is also very insulting to not only
every K2 owner who has built, let alone installed and/or operated a
KPA100, but also to Wayne and Eric who undoubtedly spent countless (100's?
of) hours designing the K2 and KPA100 in tight integration.
We can only hope that that the (?those?) individual(s?) somehow stumble
upon a wheelbarrow of clue and during the commotion, some spills on them
and seeps through their skull(s?).
Perhaps, only THEN will the person(s?) in question realize that if they
send one more single solitary "how to unsubscribe from the elecraft
mailing list" email to me, that I will be forced to contact John M. Tyson
Jr. - District Attorney for *_some_unnamed_* jurisdiction and file charges
for harrassment via email.
I have a feeling that the person(s) in question have (hopefully) realized
the error of their ways though. One can only hope.
Legal Notice: Any coincidence in the above named district attorney and the
name of the current district attorney seated in jurisdiction over a
potential criminal defendant is just that, purely coincidental.
