Maybe someone should write up a frequently ask question (FAQ) document an=
d put it on the Elecraft web site to address these questions that come up=
 over and over. I don't mind answering the questions because all of us ol=
d timers forget there are new K2/K1 builders all the time and these quest=
ions are just as important to them as when we first ran across them even =
though it may be old hat to us. However if there was a FAQ file on the we=
b site maybe some of the newbees could find it on their own. Or at least =
we could direct them to the FAQ file instead of writing the same thing ov=
er and over. =20

This seems to happen almost as much as the internal/external voltage swit=
ch in the wrong position indicating LOW BATTERY. =20

The K2 can get its sidetone from 2 different pins on the MPU. If you have=
 the KIO2 or KP100 you need the source to be U8-4. Tap menu select sideto=
ne level, hold menu to select then tap display to alternate between U6-25=
 and U8-4. When you have the right one you will hear the sidetone. The re=
ason for this is U6-25 is the RS232 pin and is needed for the computer I/=
O so the sidetone was moved to U8-4

Side tone dont work....
I have the following kits installed in my K2:
Battery
Sideband
A filter
Noise Blanker
ATU
Serial interface...
I dont CW much but it should work anyway...
Ideas???
