After a private email exchange with Bill a.k.a. FireBrick I got MMTTY 
working with DXBase 2005 even with the microHam Keyer USB interface.  It's 
late and I haven't fully tested it but it does seem to be working great.

So, bottom line, DXBase 2005 does work with MMTTY if set up right.
