[DX] eQSL cards - NOW ACCEPTED - for DXCC

A printed eQSL... only now I have to buy one from eQSL instead of waiting
for one from the DX station.

So what's the point? Wasn't the original concept of eQSL to avoid the
entire issue of printing and mailing QSL cards?

And I for one will wait for a formal statement from NC1L before accepting
this at face value. As I read the email posted (somewhat out of context
since we don't know what the original question to Bill was), the "printed
eQSL" has a good chance of being accepted IF it is professionally printed --
key word there being "professionally." But he also goes on to state that
there are no guarantees that a purely electronically generated card will
automatically be accepted. If there is some human intervention, such as a
signature or a stamp, that may be a different story.

And if I only want one or two of the cards, $5 is a pretty hefty fee.

Also, it's sure nice to know that the DX stations that have stiffed me for
IRC's or US$, and then told me just to download an eQSL, now get to stick it
to me again to pay eQSL a fee to buy a card. I find that distasteful.

In any event, I remain skeptical pending further information. I prefer to
wait for word from the DXCC desk directly, via bulletins or the ARRL web
page or a direct email, as to acceptance of the printed eQSL card.

Guess we have a new oxymoron to go along with "jumbo shrimp," "military
intelligence," and the like: "printed electronic QSL cards."

Hello Ron,
The "point" (where have you been?) is that - now - unlike any other
time before a printed eQSL is now ACCEPTED for DXCC. No one ever
claimed they were "free" or that one need do nothing (such as register
with eQSL and maintain an account) and magically your cards would be
dispersed....

Furthermore eQSL's can be retrieved as quickly as a few minutes after
the QSO.....also no more "panic attacks" everytime the mailman pulls up
to your box....the advantages are numerous and obvious....
