I'm afraid I am considering giving up SWL QSLing entirely. Nowadays
it seems a pointless exercose.

Hi Tom,
well, it would be great if hams would distinguish between a 59(9) report
and a real given report and mentioning band conditions.
What is in your opinion better? A 59(9) standard report from a ham or a real
report
from a SWL station?
SWLing is even in our days a good preparation for becoming a Ham. And, like
hams, SWLs have even fun in hearing local stations (may be they need this
non-DX for a diploma) or in fighting against QRM and QSB for the real DX.
It's just a hobby and great fun....
Have a nice weekend and take care.
