Hi again Tom,
okay, you're right if you are not interested in a real report. Other hams
are...
But verifying a correct SWL report is a kind of ham spirit for me.
I have many QSLs where hams say "thank you" for a real report and my
ufb - card. (The ufb card is surely a personal point of view)
So I assume that some hams even like "nice" or "interesting" cards.
Collecting
QSL-cards is - in my opinion - even a part of this fantastic hobby.
Your a even absolutly right when speaking of those black sheeps writing from
the cluster. So I personally prefer (as an SWL) the method of Graham M5AAV:
2 or better 3 logs - best 2 or 3 times in a row. Nearly impossible to write
this
from the cluster ...
If someone from ZS-land beams to JA-land, it is hard (may be impossible) to
hear
this contact in DL. Of course my chances are good, if the DX-station beams
to Europe.
But in this case, I can only hear the contacts with EU-stations....
vy 73 and a nice time

Hi Andreas
well I dont think that is really a good arguement. My point of view
is really that if I make a QSO with somebody, I do not really care how
many LED's are lit on the front of my rig. On 10m I have had many
good loud QSOs where the S Meter does not move. By the time a SWL card
arrives I've forgotten what band condx were like anyway.
What good is a SWL card from Germany to me, when I am in QSO with a
German station who tells me I am loud and clear. It serves no useful
purpose and merely blocks up the buro system. I have had a few
interesting SWL cards over the years eg my first ever Chinese QSL was
from a SWL station in China giving me a report when I was in QSO with
USA. Now that was before cluster time etc so was interesting, but now
so many people use cluster etc to cheat and they do not realise they are
only cheating themselves.
