Agree Steven, can see how it is confusing - but consider the DX end.
We have 7's in PA/etc, 3's in CA/etc, and on and on. I know when I
left Ariz I always signed /4 or whatever - but that fell by the
wayside as hardly anyone else did. And without being 'forced' by
the FCC to change to the 'area' you moved to - we have a 'melting
pot' of calls. So, you can see how it works for those on both sides
of the big lake. Take care.
