An effective solution might be to pressure the ARRL not to accept for DXCC
credit QSLs from managers that require excessive postage or those that
refuse to accept cards via the bureau. If these cards were not good for
credit, these managers that require 2 IRCs or $2 or 3.00US (!!!!) would soon
find themselves with plenty of time on their hands. There has been talk of
this before, but so far, I haven't seen the DXCC people take any action. It
would be nice to see someone from the ARRL really address this problem by
doing more than talk about it! I guess they don't want to offend anyone...
I don't mind paying the mailing expenses of DX stations or helping defray
the cost of operating or DXpedition costs, but I do mind someone trying to
make a living off of amateur radio. Of course, if some of us chasing awards
didn't pay the piper to get a card back, this problem would soon take care
of itself.
