Not necessarily true, and if it were, I would have 20 or more of my present countries unconfirmed.    I have sent second, third and in a couple of cases, fourth requests. and finally got them: One was 14 years old.  I also have all of my logs, except for 1 years novice logs, and QSL cards for all my operations, and ocassionaly receive requests going back to the 60s, and fill them if they are "in the log".
