Hermann, Walter, and others:
I'm glad to see your work in progress on a stable 10 MHz. OCXO
source. I think there is a real need to fill the gap between the
quite expensive (GPS locking and other) and the plain crystal methods
of generating the reference frequency.
In my case, I'm in the process of building my DSP-10 and the Brooks
Shera GPS standard, having acquired an HP surplus xtal oscillator
from eBay. However, I can envision times where I would prefer to
leave the GPS standard home where extreme accuracy and stability is
not required, but something better than a plain xtal oscillator would
be desired.
Obviously, your work will have applications in other areas of ham
radio than the DSP-10. I'm looking forward to see what you fellows
are able to come up with.
