Hi Jess..Looks like you may have a unique problem..However, in my case,
(both units) the VCO also would not tune high enough with core removed. But
worked FB with the "shortened" core at bottom. I quit pruning the core when
146+ was achieved as don't use high end of 2m band. Gud luck and
