Have you tired swapping out the 6U8?
If the problem is with a number of crystals I would guess it's more
likely some common element in the oscillator (like a tube or cap).
One thing going wrong is more likely than a whole bunch of things
going wrong.
When the swapped out the filter caps did they put in the right
values? If they grabbed some low value parts from the junk box your
voltages may not be right. I would guess you would be complaining
about hum if that was the case though.
