Hi, I am having trouble with the 6U8 mixer/osc stage-the osc section.
The xtals that came in the used radio do not oscillate. The 11 mhz xtal
did not work subbed a 11 mc rock from my Hallicrafters collection now
have 40 m.
Put the old xtal in, now it works. I had previously cleaned the pins with
de-oxit. 
The 80 m is not at all sensitive, I hesitate to jump in with an alignment
program when there may be a problem somewhere else.
The filter can was open at each terminal, replaced with an under chassis
group.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
