It's official! W3DOG ( T. Allen Phillips Memorial Amateur Radio Club )
placed 5th Nationally as a Limited Multi-Operator station in the June 2004
VHF contest. Limited stations can only operate 4 of the 10 VHF/UHF bands.
Using 6,2,222 and 432 SSB and CW, contacts were made with 1136 stations in
239 grid squares. Operating from the Laurel. Delaware contest station the
following operators competed in the 33 hour contest.

K3TKJ Al
KB3LEF Adam
N3DB Dave
AK3E Rick
KB3IWV Keith
KD3FA Bill
KG4JLO Taylor
W3JCT JC
KA3SVF Dale

The next contest is in January, if you would like to participate please
contact Al K3TKJ at 302-875-1358. We especially need CW operators but
anyone at any experience level is welcome to join us.

A special thanks to Denise Waller for the incredible food and the
traditional Saturday night Banana Splits. If for no other reason the food
is worth participating.

The following is from the ARRL contest web site:

The Limited Multi stations were led by K8GP, amassing 740K from their roost
in FM08. This is a hard-driving team of long-term experienced VHF ops that
really enjoys maximizing its equipment's potential. K9NS in IL was second
with 583K, a tribute to all the VHF activity building up in the Central
Division. W3SO, with 10 ops covering the 4 band set-up, on top of
Wopsononock Mountain in the Allegheny Mountains at 2500' came in 3rd with
310K; no doubt their scores were enhanced by having additional sets of
antennas fixed on the Northeast for 6m, and toward Pittsburgh on 2m. Team
practice on the bands during the spring and fall sprints and networked
computers to enhance passing contacts through the bands has also built
operating efficiency. Atlantic Division teams of K3 Yellow Traffic Light
(K3YTL) and W3DOG captured the next two spots. The TAPMARC team, using the
W3DOG call, with 295K set a new June ML scoring record for DE.
