Earlier in the week I visited the Titanic exhibition in Amsterdam. Very 
well setup. It is as if you walk through the ship. In the engine room 
you even hear the engine roaring.

Interesting and shocking. A video was shown about the investigation of 
the Titanic accident after they found the wreck. It turned out the 
rivets in the bow section were of an inferior quality, causing these 
rivets to come loose at the impact with the iceberg. In addition it 
turned out a safety section was damaged during an earlier fire that day, 
causing the section wall to collapse under the water pressure. And then 
there was R/O Philips who decided not to pass on an iceberg warning from 
a vessel in the neighbourhood as the message had the wrong format (?). 
Scientists believe some 100 years from now the remains of the Titanic 
may well have disappeared as metal eating bacteria are having quite a 
ball J . And a new Titanic is being build! See:
