I received the following from Betty, widow of my dear friend Rod Newkirk,
W9BRD and she corrects my statements and enlarges them concerning Rod's
VA3ZBB call sign, which I thought was very precious!

She is a sweet lady, and I miss her enthusiasm for Morse and perhaps in
time she will take a break from gardening and tune in on 40 meters as she
was used to do, listening for the delightful melodies she and Rod both
found so invigorating.

I hope the sweet swell of Morse will not remain out of her life, and I know
it does not leave her fond memories of it and the man she loves and who
loved her so very much.

Read on, below.
