Don,
I think you might have some luck searching for them if you look for "phone
pins" or perhaps "headphone pins" - at least that is what I remember them
being called.
They were used to terminate telephone headsets (headphones) like Trimm, and
they were a steel pin. They could be stuck into a Farnsworth Clip, or
manufacturers like Switchcraft made special 1/4 inch plugs that had screws
that held them against a area which had been stamped to form a groove.
There were two such grooves on each 1/4 plug, one on each side of the
retaining screw.
Is this what you're talking about?
Since they used tinsel wire, they weren't solderable, and thus used these
clips.
Be well - use www.google.com and prosper.

Subject: [CW] J-38 wire ferrules
Does anyone have a source for the wire ferrules used on the J-38 keys?
These are called pins on K6IXs web site.
I've tried tinning the wire, but the looks leave something to be desired.
Pins from a DB-25 type connector look much better, but they are soft and
distort which eventually make for a poor connection.
I've cleaned and polished my old J-38 and it looks great. The ferrules will
really do the trick for me.
