To clarify the missing part, at Keesler AFB we copied code 3 hours a day
with a pencil up to somewhere around 18 wpm. During this paper copying
period we spent 3 hours a day in typewriter class learning what a typewriter
was all about. After 18 wpm the pencil went into the trash and the
typewriter went forever. Later on Guam I worked high speed CW nets with a
mill copying aircraft position reports from around the Pacific. Really some
good old days. 1953-54.
