Not as much as there used to be! The General, Advanced and Extra tests I took 
in the 1968-1970 era required far more theory knowledge and understanding 
than today's. Just my opinion.

This one builds his own from scratch, and has done so since Novice times. The 
tests do not begin to cover what one needs to know to do that.
