i have one more... just a minor one, really
i was looking at the 'special events' section in
april's qst. there were 23 special events stations
listed for late march and april. all had frequencies
listed that they plan to operate on. only 3 listed
frequencies in the cw segments (and one of those may
actually be psk31). that means only about 13% (or
less) of the special events stations plan on
operating with any cw!
this kind of thing gives hams generally the
impression that no one uses cw anymore.
so if you have an opportunity to participate in or
organize a special event station, take advantage of
it, and make a point of selecting a cw frequency
(or two) to list for it in qst.
on the other side, make a point of contacting the
special event stations that list cw frequencies, and
if you qsl, thank them for making the special event
station available on cw!
