Thursday...
The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Wind Advisory...
which is in effect from 8 am this morning to 6 PM PST Thursday.
Southwest winds will increase this morning to 20 to 30 mph with
gusts up to 55 mph. Sheltered areas may see a brief decrease in
winds at some point during the day. However winds will pick back
up Thursday morning as the cold front approaches. Local wind
prone areas such as the Washoe Valley will see gusts up to 60 mph.
A Wind Advisory means that wind gusts of 45 mph are expected.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially for
high profile vehicles. Use extra caution...especially along
Highway 395 and other north to south oriented roadways.
