Special Weather Statement

...A return to unsettled weather for the weekend...
A Pacific weather system will approach the California coast on
Friday...bringing mountain snow and valley rain to northeast
California by Friday afternoon...then spreading into western Nevada
on Friday night and Saturday. Rain and snow is likely to continue
through most of the weekend...especially in the Sierra. Snow levels
are expected to be around 5000 to 6000 feet. Accumulating snowfall is
possible above 5500 feet with the highest snowfall amounts above 7000
feet. Travel could become difficult in the higher elevations from
Friday afternoon through this weekend.
