Hi, Jim.

All of my VHF/UHF vertical antennas are mounted on well-grounded towers 
next to the house.  If you are just going to run coax down from an 
un-grounded antenna, I would run the coax straight down to the ground where 
I would ensure the braid was bonded to a good earth ground before I made 
the right turn into the house.
