Don Prahl, KV7Q is moving from Elko. He is not planning on moving his
tower. This thing is a beauty! It extends to 75' electrically from the Ham
Shack. It also lays over so you can work on your antenna on the ground!
Don's e-mail address is [email protected]. His phone number is listed
below. Here are the particulars on his tower:

Purchase date: October 25, 1996

Tower description: U.S. Tower Corp. "MA-770MDP" - - - This is a free
standing tubular tower and will handle 10 sq. ft. @ 50 mph (My 3 element A3S
yagi has 4.36 sq. ft and handled it easily)

I purchased the entire "nine yards" of goodies so it is a great setup.
Included is the heavy duty motor for tower raising and the RMC-1000 remote
control unit. Also purchased the hinged base and the raising fixture. I can
lower the tower down and then crank it over to ground level and do
everything from the ground - - this is a nice setup! You can find the basic
tower on shown on page 141 of the AES Fall / Winter 2001 catalog. I see they
raised the base price to $3,999.99 which is about four hundred bucks above
what I paid. (With all the extras it came to well over $5,000 when I bought
it.) By the way, I have a five ft. mast extension so it is up 75 ft. when
fully elevated. I adjusted the limit switch to stop it just above my roof
level when lowering.

The rotor is a hy-gain unit - - - not sure of the model - - - I purchased it
at the same time. I notice the swiper unit inside the rotor is developing a
blind spot in one spot as the directional indicator needle "jumps" at that
spot each time. It still works fine but this might be something you would
want to look at.

The only thing you would really need is a new base unit which consists of
four long "L" shaped rods which are threaded on one end and the rest is
concreted into the ground. I have all the specs. and details which came from
U.S. Tower.

If you are interested, feel free to give me a shout (777-3941) and you can
come over and we will run it through the paces. I don't have a price in mind
so make a reasonable offer if you wish and you may get a first class tower
at a real bargain!
